MISSION TRIPS

The Association will be participating in two mission trips this year, one in North America and one internationally.

The Association will be going to Lansing Michigan July 26 - August 1 to help two area churches with VBS and construction. The cost for this trip is $125.00.

The Association will be going to Arequipa Peru September 19 - 27 to help missionaries Michael and Kristi Rains. the focus of this trip will be evangelism, prayer walking, children’s ministry, construction and medical projects. The cost for this trip will be $1,700.00.

The On Mission Celebration was a huge success. Over 60 missionaries from around the world and right here at home spoke at 63 churches in our Association on Sunday May 4. These missionaries encouraged our members to be involved in mission not only through prayer and giving, but in hands on service. They reminded us that missions starts right where you are, and extends to the far ends of the world. We are all called to be a light to a dark world.

We are proud to announce that the Colbert Lauderdale Baptist Association hired our first full-time Camp Director for our Earle Trent Assembly. On Tuesday May 13, the Executive committee voted unanimously to hire Pat Gallagher for this new position. Pat will start the first of June. The Association welcomes Pat, his wife Emily, son Patton (14) and daughter Maggie (12) .
